1987 Celica GTS Parts Car

I blew the head gasket on my second engine and do not have the money to keep or restore this car like I thought I eventually would. Lots of new parts under the hood with low miles on them (compared to the trashed 1987 body panels). I live in San Diego. Car may not be able to move far. So I'm here posting this to see if anyone's interested before I scrap completely after removing some of the parts for individual sale.

Call (619) 563-5303 for all your questions. Best to reach me after 1pm and before midnight pacific time. I may not be able to respond as quickly to email but it's robgworek@yahoo.com. I bought this car new in 1987.

Thanks, Rob.

Well I had it advertised on AutoTrader.com for about three years in a run-til-it-sells ad and had a couple almost sells. But people didn't appreciate the new engine and that most of everything in the drive train had been replaced, even the drive shaft and universals. A lot of it with very low miles. I had put all my money into the mechanical parts and not in the cosmetics. I'm on a fixed income (with medical problems). I had a very long and complete ad - original owner, all receipts - in order to attract a mechanic or someone who would collect and restore, and I kept the price reasonable to reflect the good working mechanicals. But they saw that the body panels needed lots of work. So I started driving it regularly again when my main car quit. (AutoTrader stopped the Run-til-it-sells deal - it's only for a year now.) I was having so much fun driving the Celica GTS again I didn't bother fixing the Volvo. But then the head gasket went on the Celica. I live in an apartment in San Diego and parking two cars is difficult especially with street sweeping parking tickets and hostile neighbors who don't like immobile cars. I can advertise for a while but at some point I'm going to get grief from the police again about parking in the alley (legally, no less) instead of the street. I suppose I could "give it away", but I'd rather keep it and try Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer and still drive it. I've talked to their tech support and they say it'll work, but I think when the head gasket blew completely there's the possibility of the Blue Devil solution seizing the engine permanently, and I don't want to take that chance. I can't afford a traditional head gasket job. So I thought I'd look for a collector/restorer again and I started here instead of the bums at AutoTrader who didn't grandfather in my ad. Sorry.
